Model train purists may shun this idea, but Hawthrone Village has entered licensing agreements with all professional and some college baseball, football, basketball and hockey teams to produce HO Scale trains bearing the logos and colors of your favorite teams.

The idea is to create a cross over collectible - one that draws the model train hobbyist who is also a sports enthusiast, movie buff, fireman, policeman or Marine.

These are high quality metal bodied trains meant for either display or to be made part of your layout. Depending on your interests, the sets come with either double diesel or steam powered locomotive models.

So you can get a New York Yankee or Boston Red Sox baseball themed set: or a Pittsburg Steeler or New York Giant football train themed set, etc.

All major league baseball and football teams are represented.

Coverage of professional hockey and basketball teams seem limited although major teams like the Los Angeles Lakers are available.
